LISBON

(2023)

A SELECTION OF PHOTOS AND A POEM INSPIRED BY MY TRIP TO THE ‘IT'S A KIND OF 'BLUE' MAGIC

(Dis)Embodied Selves, Depersonalisation and Ghosts in the Machines Workshop’ IN LISBON, PORTUGAL.

It feels like

if you keep walking you’ll fall off the edge of the earth,

“Well that’s impossible”

I know

and it feels like if you keep walking you’ll walk into the sea,

but you won’t

because you know where to stop as reality holds you back and you know that even if you could walk into the sea

you won’t

because you can’t swim

so you would never surround yourself with the things that will drown you.

But there are people who feel like they are living a life submerged under endless seas

and I want to say that the blue from the sea is related to the blue that’s inside but the blue from the sea is actually from the sky.

Projections

I wonder how you feel when you look at them

I wonder how you feel when self is a ghost

and you can’t tell the difference between what has come and shadows of what is next to you

When your dreams merge with reality and you can’t be sure of your recollections

It wouldn’t be true to say that you’re not experiencing a reality

But which version?

I don’t know.

So I wonder how you feel

As I stand on towers overlooking the sea that I know I will never walk into

Wondering if I’ll still reach the place I’m destined to go

Whether I’m aware if I arrive or not.
