On this occasion,
if the universe chooses to act on emotion rather than ration
every hello is followed by a goodbye
and if the universe holds earth’s principle of rotation
every goodbye is followed by a hello
For how long?
When I’ve seen sights like this
How could I not come back?
There is no right time to walk away from you,
any chosen second feels abrupt.
I knew that I was going to fall in love
I knew before I arrived here
and now in the reality of my expectation
I’m grateful for the absence of dissonance.
Why should I live a life with no passion
No fire no rage
Why should I hold my soul in a cage
When I was made to roar
I stamp my feet I roar
I swish my dress I soar
Into tranquility
But the devil is always lurking in your solitude,
waiting on the right moment to catch you off guard
The Lord himself will turn your head at the right time
No demon can spoil this moment.
I have seen a quality that is lacking in our time
Intention
Mould it into the clay you build empires with
Etch it into fortresses
Seal windows with it so you can’t look outside without being reminded that we all belong here
and that’s why I’m prepared to love you
because I’ve seen The Book of Life,
I know our possibilities
